Mission + Overview
Weaving together the personal, political, and astrological.
We are of Earth. Our bodies are ecosystems. Just as we must care for Earth, we must care for ourselves. Fatphobia harms everyone, but fat folks experience the most direct consequences of fatphobia in every facet of life. To care for our bodies by listening + responding to needs, being tender, and our nourishing ourselves is to make ourselves more open to properly caring for Earth.
We cannot love ourselves out of oppression, but we can create an internal understanding of what we deserve. We can live our lives prioritizing our beings and taking care of our wants and needs. We can refuse to hide. We can learn how to support each other.
Fat Liberation benefits EVERYONE but Caring for the Fat Body is an opportunity to come together and lean into how it benefits us Fatties.
Throughout this program I hope folks…
- begin to form a connection between their personal experience, the political/social landscape, and astrology
- release some internalized fatphobia
- figure out and start practicing ways to take care of our bodies
- have (at least!) a basic understanding of fat liberation
- feel more connected to and deeper comfort in their body
Timeline + Vibe
Folks can go ahead and can sign up now! Sign ups are open through June 18th! Group gatherings are tentatively scheduled for Sundays at 2pm ET/11am PT. Each space will be 60-90 minutes. We’ll reflect, learn, and laugh together in alignment with our guiding planet of the week. With Cancer being representative of parents and caretakers, each week we’ll also have a relevant re-parenting challenge, facilitating a more nurturing relationship with ourselves.
- Session 1 — Mercury — getting into how we think and speak about our bodies
- Session 2 — Venus — exploring the way we adorn + adore our bodies
- Sessions 3 — Mars — diving into the physicality of our bodies, how we (don’t) move our bodies
- Session 4 — Saturn — tapping into the responsibility we have to our bodies
- Session 5 — Moon — recognizing the emotions, sensations, and cycles of our bodies
Erica Joy — Program Facilitator
I’m a fat Black non-binary (she/they) queer bb who has been learning to accept, love, and fight for my body and all fat bodies. I’m a Taurus sun with an Aries moon + rising.
I grew up on diets, exercise plans, food journals, and weigh-ins. For most of the formative years of my life, I’ve had to deprive and fight against my body. One of the only things I’ll have gratitude for while getting my social work degree, is having space to explore my fatness as an identity rather than a personal failure.
my facilitation style + values
My chart guides me to facilitate in a silly, energetic, and grounded nature. Conversations are rooted in experiences, questions, and laughter.
I aim to center the experiences and ideas of the most marginalized, as we have the greatest capacity to understand how messed up the world is and in turn the greatest capacity to have ideas to improve our circumstances. In the context of this group the most marginalized folks are Infinifat folks, disabled fat folks, Black fat folks, and QTPOC fat folks.

Financial Reciprocation
The sliding scale for this program is $150-400. Folks can pay through zelle, cashapp, venmo, paypal once confirmed. The suggested amount is at least $250, and sponsored and subsidized spots will available made available from donations and other participants paying greater than the suggested price of $250.

What is Cosmic Healing?
We are two sisters co-creating a community healing justice practice, primarily grounded in astrology. Our work is borne out of our values of rest, liberation, community, joy, and integrity. If you’d like to learn more about us and what we do, you can peruse our website!
Do I need to know astrology to join?
No! While astrology and the planets will guide us through conversation, you do NOT need to have a strong knowledge of astrology to join, but you may learn a few things along the way!
How can I send my payment?
Payments can be sent via Zelle (preferred!), venmo, cashapp, or paypal. If none of these platforms work, please reach out, so we can brainstorm an alternative!
Can I pay in installments?
Yes, folks can pay in installments, but at least one installment will need to be paid prior to the beginning of the program.
How big is the group?
Our group will be max out at 12 folks. This program may bring up heavy and tender memories, reflections, and understanding, and I want everyone to have adequate space to share.
