MISSION + OVERVIEW

Our Rage is Sacred!
We, the Cosmic Healing Sistas (Erica Joy + kay), have assembled a group of brilliant, spiritual, rageful folks in the Cosmic Healing sphere to come together and share in the well-deserved, under-resourced, and generations-deep rage that we experience as colonized people in this colonized world.
We’re at the culmination of the nodal journey and series of eclipses through the tropical Aries-Libra axis—pointing to a collective reckoning with the themes reflected by these zodiacal energies. The Aries-Libra axis encapsulates Aries themes of identity, advocacy, self-assertion, aggression, determination, (self-)defense, intuition, and expressing emotion—especially passion and rage(!!) as well as Libran themes of integration, connection, assimilation, accommodation, repression, mediation, relationships, decision-making, palatability and social respectability.
Our intention with this series is to host a collection of spaces/conversations where each participant can be celebrated in their fullness and get support for however they’re being called to shift and expand.
created by Dani Pendergast

COLLECTIVE LIBERATION MEANS: Black liberation, Fat liberation, Mad liberation, spiritual liberation, liberation from border imperialism, liberation from eugenics, liberation from carcerality, liberation from capitalism, liberation from white supremacy, liberation from patriarchy, and liberation from hierarchical socioeconomic models. This group of organizers and facilitators believes in land sovereignty, disability justice, community care models, and the dismantling of this world order, including the governments, institutions, industrial complexes, and the human actors who willfully maintain them. We encourage rage against that which oppresses us, and the unjust way of life forced upon us and this earth. We deserve and demand better.

Week 1 — Sacred Rage Panel + Community Debrief + Burning it Down: the Wildfire Generation
Nov 23rd — Sacred Rage Panel As this series is led by and centering Black folks, hear from our Black co-facilitators: EJ, Elmina, kay, Laurel, and Ngozi as they discuss the importance of honoring our sacred rage in our pursuit of collective liberation.
Nov 24th — Community Debrief with Erica Joy A point of connection + reflection: Get to know some of the folks who are also attending the series and let's see what came up for each other during the Sacred Rage panel!
Nov 27th — Burning it Down: the Wildfire Generation with kay, darling Calling all Pluto in Sag folks (and our allies)!! If you were born between 1995 and 2008, you’re probably part of the only generation born of fire since 1945 and until 2068. With the oldest of us now 28, and our bbs just teens, we are finally taking the stage and taking names (for the guillotine). I genuinely believe that we are the gen that will fundamentally reject these longstanding structures of power & limitation, as Sag's ultimate goal is True Freedom, and Pluto’s force is unstoppable. LETS TALK ABOUT IT! Check out kay’s Substack essay on this generation for more context!
Week 2 — Emote! Express! Release! + Refusing to Participate — Constructing Anything Else
Nov 30th — Emote! Express! Release! Rage Expression as Skill & Ritual with Ji-Youn Kim While we recognize the importance of our sacred rage, what might it actually look like to not only feel but express and emote the power of this collective & ancestral energy into the world? In ways that feel choiceful, dignified, and perhaps even connecting?
Def 3rd — Refusing to Participate — Constructing Anything Else with kay, darling Saturn begins its time in tropical Aries just next year, starting out a new cycle through the zodiac. With Saturn being the planet of structures, rules, and limitations, and Aries the first sign of new beginnings, unmitigated power, and fierce + authentic agency, we can use the energy in this planetary ingress to bring the new world order into being. For Saturn in Aries folks preparing for our Saturn return, and anyone looking to work with this transit intentionally in the pursuit of collective liberation.

Week 3 — Black Rage + Expanding Our Rage + Community Debrief
Def 7th — Black Rage Building Capacity for Black Mad Liberation facilitated by Ngozi Alston. A critical analysis of disability justice centering abolition, Black liberation efforts, and the escalating pathologization of resistance during this ongoing pandemic.
Def 10th — Expanding Our Rage Swimming in the Tides of Our Emotions with María Alejandra Brought to you by a watery being (with 9 water placements 🌊), this collective exploration will have an embodiment focus asking us to slow down and notice what else is present with our rage. What other feelings and emotions live with/inform/hide behind/mask/show up with our rage and the rage we witness. What does it feel like to make space for the fullness of our experience with rage?
Dec 12th — Community Debrief with Erica Joy A point of connection + reflection: another chance to continue fostering community with the other folks attending SOSR, while synthesizing the conversations + workshops you've been a part of so far.

Week 4 — Harnessing Ancestral Rage through Mars for Survival, Holistic Healing, and Destiny Fulfillment + Channeling Rage from those who Chose the Sea + Tapping into the Magic of Rage + Closing
Dec 15th — Harnessing Ancestral Rage through Mars for Survival, Holistic Healing, and Destiny Fulfillment with Elmina Bell This session will use ancestral Ngoma Mulema Se philosophies Elmina has been cultivating with her ancestors as means to ground a conversation about how Mars can help us and align us with our sacred destinies. Mulema means heart in Indigenous Sawa Bantu languages of her parents from coastal and southwest Cameroon. Ngoma means rhythm and drum in many Bantu languages across the African continent. Se is the concept of destiny and life purpose from their West African Ewe Vodu ancestors. She feels the heart is a seat of transformation and connection that helps us hear our personal truth and directs us to our sacred destinies/life purposes we were born to explore and fulfill. Elmina knows that through our hearts, we can find healing by witnessing each other and honoring our differences and varying abilities/disabilities which she sees as rhythms. We will explore the ways in which Mars can help us tap into our own rhythms for holistic healing, transformation, survival, and protection that sacred rage directs us to.
Dec 18th — Channeling Rage from those who Chose the Sea with kay, darling For fellow folks of the African diaspora As Neptune, our oceanic planet, shifts signs for the first time in 14 years, kay—a proud descendant of fugitive Africans who sacrificed their lives for freedom in death over enslavement, looks to this ingress as a time to channel their rage brewing in the seas over centuries.
Dec 21st — Tapping Into the Magic of Rage facilitated by Laurel Moore. In this presentation, we’ll explore the impact of suppressed rage on the body-minds of marginalized people and the transformative power it holds to change our personal and collective reality when fully embraced and expressed. To tap into the magic of rage, we’ll engage in an exercise to unearth the power of our rage, as well as the rage of our ancestors.
Dec 22nd — Closing with the Fam let's see how we can take all that we’ve learned + exposed to channel it into future action aligned with our rage + values.

CO-ORGANIZERS

Erica Joy

notion image
Erica Joy (she/they) lives in the constant nuance of rage and temperance as an Aries moon + rising and Libra mars. A loud one who was told (and had the natural inclination) to keep the peace. As the youngest child, EJ knows the personal rage of being silenced. And as a Fat Black Queer babe, they know + feel the deep ancestral rage of being invisibilized, villianized, and terrorized. Through the co-creation of Cosmic Healing, she can live out their Taurus sun values of ground-up resistance + revolution, always being sure to center the most marginalized.

kay, darling

notion image
kay (we/she/they) is an ecowomanist living in honor and legacy of my ancestors, including but not limited to those who chose the sea. liberation is our life’s work, and we deeply value those alongside us as we collectively cultivate it. with an Aries South Node, we came into this body fiercely entitled to autonomy and are furiously learning all the various ways this inherent right is violated. kay presently works with astrology as a means/language/practice through which to holistically understand and encourage our inherent worth. co-creating Cosmic Healing with my sister has been a radical and life-affirming reclamation of my disabled body, invaluable time and vibrant energy. We honor the community healing justice work we do, appreciating the daily opportunity to deepen into and evolve our revolutionary praxis.

CO-FACILITATORS

María Alejandra

notion image
María Alejandra believes in the power of resistance through the reclamation of our bodyminds and bodylands; dreaming and conspiring in the construction of different worlds, while learning from ancestors, elders and peers. As a companion, they offer the co-creation of processing, attunement, and learning spaces led by the wisdom of bodyminds for queer, BIPOC, MMIND folks.

Ngozi Alston

notion image
Ngozi (they/she) is a Black mad hottie, with an organizing approach grounded in disability justice and Black autonomy. A crip and death doula guided by theorizing from their lived experiences, Ngozi coined the term "neuroexpansive" and continues to build capacity and care for Black madness in their community. Previously focused on building organizing collectives with survivors and abolitionists, they were a core organizer of the No New Jails NYC campaign and continue to hold the line against fascism, eugenics, and COVID denialism.

Elmina Bell

notion image
Elmina Bell is an Indigenous African Psycho-Spiritual Practitioner. Her work as a trauma-informed peer support facilitator, crisis counselor, tropical and sidereal astrologer, sound healer, medium, and budding plant medicine facilitator is guided by Ngoma Mulema Se philosophies of their various African ancestors spanning Sawa Bantu from Cameroon, Ewe/ga peoples in Togo and many more across the continent. Elmina is working with her ancestors on various projects such as BlackPolarBrain (a holistic Indigenous ancestral perspective on her bipolar diagnosis) and Indigenius Mental Health to build healing structures beyond carceral Western systems of care that have led to the murders of Sonya Massey, Ryan Gainer, and too many other Black people with mental conditions. As an academia dropout who honors education outside of formal university settings, Elmina's work aims to decolonize and re-indigenize mental health by sharing her ongoing journey of Indigenous African spirituality to help Black people remember their ancestral lineages that were violently disrupted but still survive on in us, and by embracing the knowledge of those with lived experiences with mental health conditions/disabilities. Learn more about Elmina’s offerings here!

Ji-Youn Kim

Laurel is a psycho-spiritual practitioner who offers mental health education, as well as spiritual guidance, through SpectacuLaur Thoughts. COMPENSATION

Our sliding scale is race-based, as this series is built upon an understanding of anti-Blackness as the foundation of the evils of our modern society. We want to ensure our work is accessible to Black folks, as holistic liberation for Black people is paramount to collective freedom. If the sliding scale isn’t accessible for you, reach out to kay & ej through cosmichealingfam@protonmail.com to talk about alternative options. This is a series organized and facilitated by people who truly practice the values and principles of liberation that they teach! If you have the means to pay higher on the scale please do knowing that you are supporting several multiply-marginalized folks who are (often) undervalued and underpaid doing (community) care work.
This series centers people of color—people of the global majority—to explore our sacred rage without concern for the White gaze, but White people are welcome and encouraged to support this series, and the work of all these amazing facilitators, through sponsoring tickets for Black people and/or purchasing access to the recordings of these spaces. The sliding scale is as follows:
  • Black folks: $60-120 (amounting to $5-10/space)
  • NBPOC: $120-360 ($10-30/space)
  • White folks: $360-585 ($40-65/space)

FAQs

Q: How do I sign-up?
A: All you need to do is fill out this short form and send your payment! You’ll receive a confirmation within 72 hours of payment (if applicable). As this is still an analog process, it will take more time. Thank you for understanding!
Q: Do I have to attend every event?
A: No! This is all very opt-in, join the the sessions your interested and maybe catch the recordings for the others. There’s a space or two that is Black-only, so just make sure to look-out for that.
Q: Will I be required to talk?
A: No! Again, this is all very opt-in! You will never need to show up in any particular way. We may do camera-checks to ensure everyone in a space is non-white, or ask folks to confirm this in another manner, but that is the extent to which we will be asking anyone to directly engage while in these spaces.
Q: I’m white, can/should I join?
A: White people can purchase access to event recordings as well as provide support for POC who would like to attend.
Q: How do I pay for my ticket?
A: We are using Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and Cashapp most readily. We can figure out another method to receive payment if necessary, but that requires communication, so please reach if that is something you need. Please refrain from signaling this as a purchase for a service/good to a business, as that will typically take a fee out of your payment. Also, we’re not a business!
If the sliding scale isn’t accessible for you, reach out to kay & ej through cosmichealingfam@protonmail.com to talk about alternative options. Payment plans, trades, or collecting a subsidized/sponsored ticket are all possible. If we’re not already in community, we will ask for a brief description of your positionality to help deduce an equitable arrangement.
Q: What if I can’t afford a ticket?
A: If the sliding scale isn’t accessible for you, reach out to kay & ej through cosmichealingfam@protonmail.com to talk about alternative options. Payment plans, trades, or collecting a subsidized/sponsored ticket are all possible. We will ask for a brief description of your positionality to help deduce an equitable arrangement.
Q: I don’t think I’ve gotten confirmation of my ticket?
A: Our proton email can sometimes be put into spam/junk, so please check those folders and add our email to your contacts or email us! This is also an analog process for us, so it will take a bit longer than an automatic platform, but if you haven’t received confirmation within 72 hours of payment, please reach out to cosmichealingfam@protonmail.com.
